Removal of calculus (tartar):
Calculus is plaque that has hardened over time and harbours bacteria. It is caused by the continual accumulation of minerals from saliva and becomes firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can be harmful to gum health. It can only be removed using special dental instruments.
Elimination of plaque:
Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of bacteria, food debris, and saliva. These bacteria produce toxins (poisons) that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the beginning of periodontal disease.
Teeth Polishing:
Teeth polishing involves the removal of stains and plaque that are not otherwise removed during routine tooth brushing and scaling.
